We've got the best mascaras for any situation...

My day literally can’t start without a good lick of mascara on my super fine blonde lashes. However it’s hard to work through the rubbish and get a product that does exactly what you want it for; whether it’s a natural day time or super glam. I’ve found 5 of the best mascaras for lashes for every occasion; from a lazy day in the office to a full blown party look.

Lazy Day –

For days where you just want to look good in a hurry, the best and easiest mascara I’ve found is the Clinique High Definition Mascara. It’s only a little brush, but it means it suits every lash type and is great for lower lashes as well. The formula doesn’t budge and is a great, defining mascara to add to later in the day if you’re going out.

Smart Day –

This product is fab for day where you know you need to look on-point; whether you’ve got a meeting or you know you’re going out afterwards. ModelCo’s Fibre Lash Brush on False Lashes are fab. You get a pack with a mascara (which is actually brilliant on it’s on) and a mascara-esque tube of Lash Fibres. Using the three steps (mascara, brush on fibres, mascara), you get gorgeous lashes in an instance.

The process isn’t time consuming and you end up with a very natural, almost extension-like look that would be fab with a chic eyeliner flick during the day and a smoky eye during the evening.

Evening Glamour –

As the light goes down, you need a slightly more punchy mascara and I’ve found none better for super glam lashes than Dior Show Backstage makeup mascara. The brush is thick and delivers ample mascara to you lashes, giving you some serious length and volume. I love slicking some of this on with a grumgy smoky eye for the deepest, darkest effect.

60’s Siren –

This one’s for anyone that really wants it to be all about the eyes. I’m talking 60’s Twiggy here and you can’t just use any old mascara. A great one I cam across the other day was the new Lancome Hypnôse Doll Eyes mascara which delivers just that; perfectly lashed doll-like eyes. The formula is weighty but slick and the brush is thick and conical meaning you can attack all your lashes, not just the obvious ones.

Whack on a few layers of this in quick succession (so it doesn’t dry and go clumpy as you reapply) nd you’ll be left with lashes that would leave Twiggy seething.

Beauty Bag Staple -

We all have a staple inclusion in our beauty bags that we can’t live without and when it comes to mascara BATD HQ LOVE L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes. It’s the most fool-proof and budget friendly mascara we’ve come across and is great for people that don’t want to 1.) fork out a fortune 2.) be bothered with buy different mascaras for different looks.

It’s a universal failsafe and we would definitely recommend it.
