Zermatt

Zermatt

Zermatt is the ultimate skier destination. Like St Moritz, people need to throw out their old opinions on Swiss mountain resorts being overpriced and inaccessible. Not only is it one of the most beautiful places you’ll ever visit, with the famous Matterhorn peak overlooking the enchanting old village, but it also boasts some of the best skiing and snowboarding you’ll ever encounter. The car free village is so charming, yet hidden under its quaint exterior is an exceptional party town. It hosts some of the best bars, clubs and restaurants around that you might think you’ve stumbled across your very own slice of paradise and never want to leave.

Zermatt offers the best snowfall record and the highest ski terrain in Europe with the Klein Matterhorn peak reaching 3,883m. The ultra modern integrated lift system makes transmission from the four main areas, Sunnegga, Gornergrat, Klein Matterhorn and Schwarzee, quite seamless. And now for the icing on the cake: skiers can buy an international ski pass that allows them to pass over the boarder and into the Italian resort of Cervinia. Combining these two phenomenal resorts gives skiers an incredible terrain to play with. Zermatt is, however, suited for good to advanced skiers and snowboarders as the pistes sport so many red and black runs. If you like a challenge, during your stay you must try the Triftji mogul field and there is also plenty of off piste to tempt you, but I would suggest taking a professional guide as one can easily to get lost.
