Speaking at the ‘It’s Our Turn‘ conference in Los Angeles yesterday (08.02.120, she said “I used to throw up all the time in high school. So I’m not that confident. I wanted to be a skinny little ballerina but I was a voluptuous little Italian girl whose dad had meatballs on the table every night. I used to come home and say, ‘Dad, why do you always give us this food? I need to be thin.’ And he’d say, ‘Eat your spaghetti.’

“It’s really hard, but you’ve got to talk to somebody about it.”

Gaga admitted the eating disorder damaged her voice, which was why she eventually stopped making herself sick.

She explained: “It made my voice bad, so I had to stop. The acid on your vocal chords – it’s very bad.”

The eccentric singer admitted she still worries about her weight but urged young girls to stop being so body-conscious and obsessed with being thin.

She added: “Weight is still a struggle. Every video I’m in, every magazine cover, they stretch you – they make you perfect. It’s not real life. I’m gonna say this about girls: The dieting wars have got to stop. Everyone just knock it off. Because at the end of the day, it’s affecting kids your age. And it’s making girls sick.”

We’re obviously excited to see our homegrown film awards when the red carpet hits on Sunday evening. The Red Carpet will be hosted by none other than Miss Piggy from The Muppets, with the ceremony hosted by Steven Fry.

We’ll see all the big films such as The Artist, The Descendants and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy all fight it out for the top spot and rumours are Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender will be in attendance. We’re keen to see which actor will bag the Orange Rising Star Award too (see who’s up for it here).

The Red Carpet Show kicks off on BBC3 at 7:30pm with the Awards Ceremony starting on BBC1 at 9:00pm.

54th Grammy Awards

This is one of the biggest music awards show in the world and they’ve got a killer line up this year. Not only will Adele be making her return performance after resting her vocal chords, but it will be the first time Chris Brown and Rihanna will be at the event together since her beat her up three years ago. Nicki Minaj will also be debuting her new single Roman Holiday.

It kicks off at 8pm Eastern Time/ 1am Greenwich Mean Time

Post-Baby B was wearing an ALICE by Temperley Molina Dress for the occasion, which was celebrating Jay Z’s concert at Carnegie Hall, and it couldn’t have shown off her impressive curves anymore.

M.I.A. swears live on TV

Madonna is reportedly furious with rapper M.I.A for giving the finger at their Super Bowl performance.

The ‘Paper Planes’ singer joined Madonna on stage as a guest vocalist at Sunday’s (07.02.12) game but shocked viewers when she stuck up her middle finger whilst singing the line: “I don’t give a s**t,” from Madonna’s new track ‘Give Me All Your Luvin’.

As the incident continues to grab headlines across the world, Madonna, 53, is said to be far from pleased, feeling it has detracted from their performance.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “Madonna wasn’t impressed. She prides herself on professionalism.

“M.I.A did nothing similar in rehearsals. Nobody knew she was going to pull this stunt.

“Madonna wanted to put on a world-beating performance. But everyone ended up talking about this girl’s middle finger.”

According to a second source, M.I.A – real name Mathangi Arulpragasam – got carried away and acted on “adrenaline”.

The source said: “She wasn’t thinking. She was caught in the moment and she’s incredibly sorry.”

M.I.A, of Mitcham, south London, could now face a fine according to TMZ. A source told the US website she signed a contact which makes her liable to pay any penalties imposed by TV regulators. A £350,000 fine was imposed following Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” when she flashed a breast at the 2004 Super Bowl.

Stars lined the stands for this year’s Super Bowl in Indiana, showing support for both the New England Patriots and the New York Giants.

Lenny Kravitz, Rosie O’Donnell and Jessica Simpson each tweeted pictures of themselves in the stands, while Seal, Adam Sandler, and David Arquette were among the other celebs caught cheering on their team of choice.

Maria Menounos, fashioned in a jersey emblazoned with Tom Brady’s number 12, cheered for the New England Patriots. Katy Perry appeared bipartisan in a unique red, white and blue outfit, mismatched shoes and blue hair.

Meanwhile in the locker room, supermodel Gisele Bundchen consoled husband and New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, after his team lost the game 21-17.

In addition to the star-studded stands, this year’s Super Bowl featured a number of celeb performers, including Miranda Lambert and Kelly Clarkson. Madonna headlined the halftime show with guest artists Cee Lo Green, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, and M.I.A., who caused a ruckus when she threw up her middle finger during her performance of “Give Me All Your Luvin’” with Madge.

Demi Moore

Demi Moore has checked into rehab in the US.

The 49-year-old actress – who was hospitalised last week after she suffered a seizure – is reportedly “on total lockdown” at the 1,000-a-night Cirque Lodge addiction treatment centre in Sundance, Utah, where she is said to be receiving treatment for “eating disorder and addiction issues”.

A source told E!: “She’s on total lockdown and only talking to a small group of people.”

Demi – who split from husband Ashton Kutcher in November amid speculation he had cheated on her – is recently thought to have been struggling with the fact that her troubles, which are rumoured to include anorexia and substance abuse, have been under so much scrutiny which has led to her seeking help.

The source added: “It became clear to her that her way of coping with her stress was not working and she needed more help.”

Last week, Demi’s three daughters, Scout, 20, Tallulah, 16, and 23-year-old Rumer, as well as ex-husband Bruce Willis, were said to have encouraged the ‘Striptease’ star to professional seek help, but she reportedly refused to go to rehab.

Ashton Kutcher is also thought to have urged Demi to go to rehab following her hospitalisation.

A source told RadarOnline: “Ashton has had loved ones in his life that have dealt with addiction issues, and he realises that it’s counter-productive for someone to be forced to go to rehab.

“Ashton knows the addict has to want to get help for themselves. There is a lot of noise around Demi right now, and Ashton wants her to know he is there for her and supports her no matter what.”

Princess Diana’s life is set to be made into a movie.

Film producer Stephen Evans is lining up a Hollywood actress to play the late British royal – who tragically died in a car crash in August

1997 – in a film that will be based on her bodyguard Ken Wharfe’s memoirs from his book ‘Diana: Closely Guarded Secret‘.

He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: “We are dealing with about 11 years of her life from just after she had Harry, when he’s aged about two, and it’s partly from the point of view of her protection bodyguard.

“The emphasis on this really is authenticity and to discover what she went through. Unless you are a Diana freak, quite a lot of it will be unknown to the audience.

“The movie’s not saying she is unbelievably wonderful or she’s a pain in the neck, the audience can make their own view.

“I think she had some marvellous qualities, absolutely phenomenal qualities and tremendous charisma. She was also very good at one-liners… very witty, sharp.

“Intellectually, she was not in the top level but on the other hand had native cunning, – stubbornness. Once she made up her mind she was like a bulldozer.

“She could be a pain, she was lethal. She ¬utilised friendships and dumped ¬friendships.”

Stephen is hoping his movie will follow in the successful footsteps of ‘n’ – which sees Meryl Streep play former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher – but he admits the political film “isn’t great”.

He added: “The – performance of Meryl Streep is the greatest I have ever seen.

“The movie itself isn’t great, but you do believe you are watching Margaret Thatcher. It’s a tour de force.”

Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson have been linked to a Pathé film called ‘Diana‘, while Jessica Chastain is set to star in another movie about the royal entitled ‘Caught in Flight’, which will be based on a real-life affair Diana tried to keep hidden.

In this brand new Muppet film starring Jason Segal, Amy Adams, and all your favourite Muppets characters, the gang must reunite to save their theatre from a threatening oil tycoon. In typical Muppets fashion, the movie features a number of celebrity cameos, including Mickey Rooney, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Emily Blunt and Neil Patrick Harris. It’s probably the best film we’ve seen all year and we couldn’t recommend it any more if we tried! Jason Segal’s done a great job. Go see the Muppets!

Leo must convince his wife of their love when Paige’s ex resurfaces. This is actually based on a true story, which sort of helps but it’s hard to get behind this couple in the film.

Now we saw this the other day and although it’s no scratch on The Notebook, if you love a chick-flick this is he one for you. Oh and you see Channing Tatum’s naked rear which is a perk.

Daniel Radcliffe stars in this horror story as Arthur Kipps, a lawyer summoned to a remote English village to do paperwork for a recently deceased client. But what he thought would be business quickly turns into a nightmare when he catches a glimpse of a mysterious apparition of a woman in black and must unveil the unsettling secret of her identity. Adapted from the famous play and book by the brilliant Jane Goldman, this is shot so beautifully and is brilliantly spooky, horror fans are in for a treat.

Definitely one for the big screen and surrounded by a jumpy crowd, those added screams will all add to it….

Night Safari at the Natural History Museum

For every woman swooning over chocolates, roses, and candlelit dinners, there is another that can bare the Valentine’s Day romantics. Luckily, this 14th Febryary, the Natural History Museum has something in store for romantics and cynics alike.

Titled “Turn Me On” and “Turn Me Off”, the event allows guests to choose between two Valentine’s Night Safaris: one that focuses on the ways of romance in the animal world and an alternative that reveals nature’s darker side.

Die-hard romantics may prefer the “Turn Me On” tour, which showcases inspiring examples of romance in nature, from creatures of the deep sea swimming for their soul mates to the bizarre practices of chivalry in the beetle world.

If something more sinister lights your fire, go for the “Turn Me Off” tour, which incorporates the Museum’s most vile and dangerous specimens for the enjoyment of Valentine-skeptics. The route takes guests past flesh-eating beetles, carnivorous plants and parasitoid wasps, ensuring those heart-shaped chocolates and pink fluffy teddy bears are far from your mind.

At the end of the tour, guests can head to the pop-up bar for a drink and the chance to share their opposing experiences.

Admission is £28 for adults and £25 for members. There is limited space, so book early for a chance to see this unique display of romance (or lack thereof).

Doors open at 18.30 for a 19.00 start in the Central Hall at the Cromwell Road entrance.

Nick Jonas and Samantha Barks

The highly sought after role of Eponine in the impending big screen adaptation of Les Miserables has been confirmed as I’d Do Anything contestant Samantha Barks!

Barks, who is currently playing Nancy in Oliver! at the Manchester Palace Theatre, was told about her role by producer Cameron Mackintosh during the curtain call for the production.

This confirmation comes after months of speculation as to who was going to bag the role… and she had some serious competition. Rumoured for the role included actresses Scarlett Johansson, Taylor Swift, Lea Michele and Evan Rachel Wood.

You could say it’s no surprise considering she’s already starred as Eponine in the 2010 West End production of Les Mis and also in the O2 production of the show alongside Nick Jonas.

Confirmed cast members are already an impressive list including; Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter.
