Lanvin Summer 2012 Campaign

Snakes, sunnies, and sex appeal reign supreme in Lanvin’s Summer 2012 campaign.

Captured by photographer Steven Meisel, the latest video from the French fashion house features an exotic dinner party where models wearing flowing gowns and tailored suits, layer themselves with snakes.

The ad comes from the creative direction of House and Holme and features up and coming it-girls Aymeline Valade and Marte Mei van Haaster, as well as models Aaron Vernon and Angus Lowe.

The somewhat sinister video is set to the edgy pop sounds of Maxine Ashley’s new single “Cookieman”, which is written and produced by hip hop mogul Pharell Williams. The track is the first single off of Ashley’s upcoming debut album.

Stella McCartney

To celebrate the launch of her new fragrance, L.I.L.Y, Stella McCartney will make an exclusive appearance at Selfridges Oxford Street TONIGHT (8th February)!

The first 100 people to purchase a 50 ml (£60) or 75 ml (£76) bottle of the fragrance tomorrow will get to meet Stella and have their parfum bottle signed by the designer between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Stella said L.I.L.Y stands for “Linda, I Love You” and was her father’s nickname for her mother. The earthy yet seductive fragrance incorporates the smells of spring, including lily of the valley, moss and truffles.

The worldwide launch of L.I.L.Y. is exclusive to Selfridges and available nationwide starting 15th February.

Marilyn Monroe

Londoners can soon get a rare glimpse at Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe in an upcoming exhibition at Getty Images Gallery.

In commemoration of the 50 years since Monroe’s death, the ‘Marilyn’ exhibition will pair unique photos of Monroe with original dresses and costumes worn by the iconic movie star.

Photographs will range from Monroe’s early years as an aspiring actress through her rise to international stardom. Accompanying each photo will be an original film costume or dress from the collection of David Gainsborough Roberts, owner of one of the largest collections of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia in the world.

“We are extremely excited to present our Marilyn exhibition, offering the public unparalleled and rare access to Marilyn’s life through the iconic imagery from Getty Images’ extensive archival collection,” said Louise Garczewska, Director at Getty Images Gallery.

Original video will also be shown and prints will be available for purchase.

The exhibition runs at the Getty Images Gallery from Friday 9 March to 24 May 2012.

Admission is free.

Rachel McAdams in Vivienne Westwood at The Vow premiere in LA

Rachel McAdams attended the LA premiere of her latest film. The Vow, last night and we’re loving her dress!

The actress opted for a pale mint Vivienne Westwood dress for the occasion and teamed it with Christian Louboutin heels to hit the red carpet with her co-star, Channing Tatum.

We love the dress but are really not sure about the hair and makeup. She normally hits the nail on the head with simple red carpet makeup, but this all a bit much. A smoky eye with nude lips would have been amuch better option.

Bridesmaids dresses featured in the 100th Gossip Girl episode

Vera Wang and costume designer Eric Daman bring us a close-up look at the gowns worn by the leading ladies of Gossip Girl in the show’s royal wedding episode.

In the show’s 100^th episode, in which Blair (Leighton Meester) is set to wed Prince Louis (Hugo Becker), Blair’s bridesmaids can be seen wearing cutesy pastel dresses, each cinched at the waist with a black bow. The one-shoulder gowns are certainly couture, but perhaps not the most flattering thanks to the sheer volume of fabric gathered at the bottom of the dress.

Vera Wang’s couture maid-of-honour gown is our favourite and comes in a delicate pink  with layers of hand-fringed ruffles, a veiled bustier and cinched waist.

Not to be outdone, Blair reportedly wears a cream wedding gown composed of several layers of hand-stitched lace, which Vera claims to be “a new take on classic.” The gown apparently features nearly 100 buttons that run down the back of the train! Impressive stuff…

Kate Winslet in Jenny Packham for 2012 Golden Globes

She’s dressed some of the world’s biggest names and now Jenny Packham is about to create a high street range for Debenhams.

This collaboration will add to Debenhams’ already extensive designer ranges including; Jonathan Saunders, Preen, Roksanda Ilincic, and Matthew Williamson, and is set to launch for Spring/Summer 2012.

Check out favourite Packham looks over the last few years… let’s hope the high street range comes up to scratch.

David Beckham for H&M

Beckham’s underwear range for Swedish retailer H&M is set to hit stores on 2^nd February and we’ve found the rather tasty shots from his campaign.

The collection itself will involve 9-pieces designed for “fit, function, comfort and design” and will include long johns, t-shirts and boxers.

Beckham said, “I always want to challenge myself and this was such a rewarding experience for me. I’m very happy with the end result and I hope H&M’s male customers will be as excited as I am.”

Watch out for more seasonal collaborations between the two and they’ll be on their way.
