Festivals are a great experience, and thanks to Sure I found this out at my first ever festival last weekend at Vfest.
I’ve always wanted to go to a festival. I know I’d enjoy the music and atmosphere, but camping was never number one on my list. To avoid any rookie mistakes we began vigorously googling what essentials we would need to bring. My biggest concern was using the toilets and showers, so we made sure we were well prepared; wet wipes, Sure deodorant, and LOTS of hand sanitizer. You name it, we had it!
Our festival experience began early morning on Saturday. I hadn’t finished packing or even planned my outfit, and for someone who likes having choices it was extremely difficult to narrow down to two options. *sighs* Regardless, it had to be done, my rucksack was already full and I needed to think rationally, while managing to look fabulous of course.
We arrived at around 11am to set up camp and by this point according to my Fitbit we had completed over 5,000 steps. The sun was high, the day was only going to get hotter, and although we were already melting, we could not wait to get into the festival arena. A quick top up of our make-up and some deodorant and we were ready to go.
It took a while getting to get into the swing of things, but once we’d mentally mapped out where everything was, that’s when all the fun and running around began – from the MTV stage to the Sure stage, to VIP and then to the Virgin stage.
Day two was even more mental! Waking up in the morning, naturally your instincts are to shower, but being at a festival you can’t really enjoy a hot relaxing shower like you would at home. This is when my Sure deodorant was very handy. On a normal day I use Sure Motionsense Aloe Vera, but for the weekend I opted for the Sure Motionsense Shower Fresh. The Motionsense technology was perfect as it kept me fresh and dry all day. It is the world’s first antiperspirant that is activated directly by movements, using unique microcapsules that break with friction to release freshness which lasts all day, allowing me to keep active throughout the weekend without worries. I would definitely recommend this to festival goers!
Mid-afternoon and we had done around 20,000 steps. I was stunned because on a normal day I hardly manage half. Let’s just say it was a proud moment. The atmosphere was great and we were in high spirits regardless of the rain. At one point during Sigma’s performance we even managed to get in front of the camera; so mum, tune in on MTV.
As the sun was setting over Hylands Park we were in need of a break. We had done 6 hours of straight forward dancing and it was time to refuel. What better way to catch your breath than at VIP, and at this point I was very grateful to wind down, relax, have a snack and enjoy a refreshing mojito or two 😉 …
We decided to end a wonderful weekend with our favourite DJ, Calvin Harris. His performance was incredible and I kid you not, I have never seen a bigger crowd. But every good thing has to come to an end, so it was time to pack up and head home. We had a fantastic time and an unforgettable experience. Thank you Sure!
