Beyonce’s British Vogue Debut

Forget September. It’s all about the May issues.

Amidst rumours of a potential breakdown Justin Bieber covers Teen Vogue with the tagline ‘Justin’s Crazy Year’, meanwhile here in the UK Emma Watson is growing up, publicly, showcasing both her maturity and assets on GQ’s cover and then there’s Vogue’s cover girl, Beyonce, who trumps them all. Understandably.

Beyonce, Vogue UK

In the run up to her Mrs Carter UK dates,  Vogue, has tapped the international superstar and managed to bag an exclusive with the woman whose talent, style and career have catapulted her to the heady heights of stardom, yet remains, surprisingly grounded.

She talks to Vogue candidly about her marriage to Jay-Z, being a mother to Blue Ivy, the 20-year musical journey that she has travelled from the early days of Destiny’s Child to her current, solo career and being a “modern-day feminist”.

“It comes from knowing my purpose and really meeting myself once I saw my child. I was like, okay, this is what you were born to do,” she continued.

“The purpose of my body became completely different. The way I view it and everything. There’s a sensuality and an audacity that I’m okay with sharing. And I’m not uncomfortable about it. I’m not shy about it. And I feel like it’s important for women not to lose that sense of sensuality.”

If you buy just one mag this May, make it Vogue.
