When it comes to the Cannes Film Festival, the focus is as much on La Croisette fashion as on the films themselves. Italian fashion label Prada, however, managed to successfully merge the two, in a special project showcased at the Cannes Film Festival last night.

In their first ever short film, Prada enlisted director Roman Polanski – of The Pianist and Rosemary’s Baby – as well as British acting treasures – Sir Ben Kingsley and Helena Bonham Carter.

In the short film, Bonham Carter, exquisitely styled in red and purple Prada is seen visiting her New York therapist, played by Kinglsey. Draped on the couch, having kicked off her black Prada stilettos, she begins to describe a bad dream – blaming her terrible loneliness on her ‘daddy and how his money was a curse. As she recalls the nightmare in length, Kingsley’s attention is quickly drawn to the dramatic purple fur coat left hanging in the hallway. He moves to touch it, smell it and finally wraps himself up in it, before posing in front of his mirror with the tag line, Prada Suits Everyone.
