Carnaby Book Exchange

In this era of e-books, kindles and iPads, now more than ever, there is something truly delightful about reading a well-thumbed, pre-owned and once-loved book. Which is why the launch of The Carnaby Book Exchange couldn’t come at a better time.

In a project curated by The London College of Fashion’s MA Fashion Curation students, an area within the ground flood of Kingly Court has been transformed into what is essentially a free library.  Visitors are welcomed into the warm space and comfy armchairs and are encouraged to bring in a book, have a mooch around, and swap it for another. The project is not simply a sustainable form of reading, but also a means of allowing book-lovers to engage with others and share their love of literature.

Catering for even the most eclectic of tastes and interests, the range of books available encompass everything from fashion and film to photography, music and travel.

The Carnaby Book Exchange can be found on the Ground Floor, Kingly Court, Carnaby, W1,

Opening hours – Monday – Saturday 8.30 am – 7 pm and Sunday 12 pm – 5 pm
