Chloe Mortez
MTV just named Chloe Moretz one of the “Top Ten to watch in 2010,” and she will be on our radar because all of her films are set to hit cinemas in the coming months.
She got her start at the ripe age of five, living in New York City and working as a catalogue model. A year later, her family moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. She was the voice of Darby, the modern day version of Christopher Robbins, in the updated version of Winnie the Pooh, ‘My Friends Tigger and Pooh’. She also had recurring roles on hit primetime shows My Name is Earl and Desperate Housewives.
The role that made her famous was Chelsea Lutz in the remake of Amityville Horror, for which she received critical acclaim as she was able to display such a range of emotions.
For the past year, Chloe Moretz has been running around non-stop, starring in several feature films. First, in 500 Days of Summer, she played Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s little sister who helped him calm him nerves after meeting the love of his life. She is now starring as Nicholas Cage’s daughter in Kick Ass, where she helps kill bad guys using the alter ego Hit Girl. For her next film, she has jumped on the vampire bandwagon and will be starring in the US remake of the Swedish movie Let Me In.

Hit Girl - Kick Ass
Because of all the profanity, her role in Kick Ass has recently gotten a lot of buzz. She was only 11 at the time of filming, acted out the brutal murders over a dozen people and said some of the worst words imaginable.
However, Moretz said, “If [she] ever uttered one word [she] said in Kick-Ass, [she] would be grounded for years!”
She continued on to say that she would never in a million years say anything like that and revealed that she is actually from a very religious family and would never even hurt a fly. Despite the fowl language, several film critics have called Kick Ass the most successful comic adaptation to date.
Rumour has it, Chloe will be starring in Martin Scorsese’s new film The Invention of Hugo Cabaret, which is based off the Brian Selznick novel. Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley may also be starring in the children’s fantasy.
Kick Ass is in cinemas from 26th March.

At this point, it’s very, very difficult to do a coamrtporney cops-and-homicidal-killer story as a feature film and differentiate it from all the TV procedurals on the air every night. You need some kind of twist either period, like Zodiac, or a genre twist, like Alien Nation. So, the nice cast aside, whether this is a good film or a bad film, from this trailer it not only looks like an episode of Criminal Minds, but they even did a very similar story last season. And I love Sam Worthington, but as a Texas cop? Were there no American actors who could play this role? Did they shoot it in Australia for a rebate?
