The Austrian hotel, Grüner Baum, launches its new iConcierge services from Sunday 27th June.

The 179-year-old Hotel will give guests access to 15 iPads that have been specially developed to offer travel-enhancing Apps that have been specifically designed for the area by the Hotel’s owners, the Blumscheins.

The best thing is that each iPad comes in its own traditional Lederhosen cover (a traditional style of leather trousers), embroidered in the style of the National costume.

The Small Luxury Hotels of the World property is loved worldwide and has been visited by likes of the Shah of Persia, Franz Joseph I of Austria and the Princess of Holland, so you can only imagine the luxury you’ll be getting!

Max Blumschein, general manager of the Grüner Baum Hotel, said, “Our hotel first made a name for itself when emperors and film directors such Franz Joseph and Luis Trenker came here on escape-from-it-all spa breaks and hunting holidays, but today’s guests want to be able to delve quickly back into the news-by-the-second world… Our new Austrian-attired iPads and iConcierge service offer guests access to everything from foreign newspapers to hiking route planners, a preview of the evening’s menu and wine list and a comforting babycam, all from the a mountain-view armchair or from the bar.”

This definitely sounds like my kind of holiday perk!
