Lulu Guiness's Elephant design

Last Sunday (02.05.10) saw Carnaby Street get overtaken with decorated elephants in order to raise awareness of the the endangered Asian elephant which has seen its species decline over the past century from 250,000 to just 25,000.

A number of designers have lent their designs to the model elephant such as; Isaac Mizrahi with ‘Candy’, Lulu Guiness with her signature red lips and Julien MacDonald with an animal print.

Each Elephant weighed 70kg and were 148cmx165cm.

Carnaby Street will be host to the Elephant Parade Pop up shop (36 Carnaby Street) until June, where customers can buy miniature limited editions of the designers Elephants (prices range from £6.95 – £229.00)

Dick Roberts' Elephant

Model baby elephants can also be found on Regent Street from today (3rd May) until 22nd June and include designs from artists such as Tim Haywood, Rosie Sander, Sam Hacking and Dick Robert’s.
