Topshop's discontinued T-Shirts

Oh the power of Twitter. Topshop recently released two new men’s T-Shirt designs and well, they didn’t quite get the reaction Topshop hoped for…

The T-Shirts, assumed to be meant as a bit of a lad’s joke, didn’t go down so well as people saw the logos emblazoned on the front. One read ‘Nice new girlfriend – what breed is she?’, with the other showing a list stating ‘I’m so sorry but…’ with a tick-box list of excuses below it.

Twitter immediately got hold of it and @stevegabb even tweeted: ‘Look! we can commoditise domestic violence.’

Not Topshop’s greatest day as they have now dropped the Tees with the following statement: ‘We have received some negative feedback regarding two of our printed T-shirts. Whilst we would like to stress that these T-shirts were meant to be light-hearted and carried no serious meaning we have made the decision to remove these from store and on-line as soon as possible. We would like to apologise to those who may have been offended by these designs.’

What do you think. Joke too far or should people take themselves a little less seriously? Let us know in the comment section below.
