The Los Angeles-based Kardashian trio, Kim Khloe, and Kourtney, who found fame through there reality TV show Keeping up with the Kardashians, have been in London promoting their brand spanking new Kollection. It seems they have maximised their marketing strategies, having reached out to the Duchess of Cambridge in hopes of her royal seal of approval.

According to The Daily Mail, the sisters sent the Duchess a selection of the Kollection’s keyhole cut-outs, sheer panels and floaty drape sleeve blouses only to reportedly have the package sent back. A royal snub? the duchess isn’t one to shy away from a more risqué outfit – having donned Cheryl Cole‘s military body suit and split trousers to sing Fight For This Love at a party - but body cons and leopard print seem a little out of character.

According to an inside source of the Daily Star, the Kardashian’s “hoped Kate might be seen wearing one of the designs out in public, which would give their fashion credentials a huge boost. The Kardashians want to be as big in the UK as they are in America, and think associating themselves with the Royals, especially Kate, will help them achieve that.”

Kate would certainly popularise the Kollection is she were to don one of their outfits, but the differing tastes in style just don’t add up. Kim’s Kollection has a distinctive “look at me” glamour quite different from the demure style Kate embraces.

However Kim begs to differ, having said in an interview with Now magazine that, “Kate seems like a really sweet person and she’s a princess. We love her sense of fashion. She could wear our looks and team it with one of her hats”. We may have to see this one to believe it…

But rather than a direct snub of the Kollection, Kate was merely holding true to her royal obligations. A representative of the Duchess told the Mail Online, “In general terms, the policy of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is not to accept any unsolicited gifts unless the sender is known personally to His or Her Royal Highness. Any such gifts are returned to the sender with thanks and an explanation of Their Royal Highnesses’ policy.”
