Ramona and Beezus out 22.10.10

The movie Ramona and Beezus, out this week, is a story about two sisters and their family.  In the movie Josh Duhamel plays Hobart, the rascally ex-boyfriend of the girls’ Aunt Bea, played by Ginnifer Goodwin Check out the exclusive Q & A with Josh here:

What kind of guy is Hobart?

Hobart Kemp […] has just come back after being away for fifteen years.  I guess he had some time to reflect on some of the mistakes he made when he was younger.  As the movie goes on, you realize that he has come back for Ramona’s Aunt Bea.Josh plays Hobart in the movie

How important is their relationship?

I think it’s key to the story. I think all the elements are important.  You have the mother and father who are dealing with their own problems, their finances.  You have a teenage girl who is going through her own experiences and a younger girl with her own problems.  All that thrown together is like a circus. Then you have   the troubles of a relationship that went bad before and a couple who are trying to make it right again.  They have been in love before and now would like to have a family life like the Quimbys.

Why do you think the film will appeal to audiences all over the world?

This is definitely a movie with a broad appeal because I think that people everywhere go through the same things.  The film is about human phases of life that people experience.

Hobart, Ramona and Aunt Bea

Are you more like Ramona, with a wild imagination?  Or more like Beezus?

I’m more like Ramona, I’ve got to say. I’m a bit of a daydreamer and I definitely was growing up too, so that often got me into trouble.  What is so great about little Ramona is the fact that she always means well but always ends up screwing things up in one way or another.  I think a lot of us can relate to that.
