E.L. James’s best selling erotic novel, Fifty Shades of Grey, has caused much excitement among readers all around the world; however, it’s the rumored film adaptation that has created the latest frenzy among fans – especially since Ryan Gosling has been singled out as a dream candidate to play the main character, Christian Grey.

Novelist, Bret Easton Ellis, who wrote the famed film American Pyscho, has been asked to work on a script adaption of the misogynistic novel and has recently tweeted his thoughts for the team that he would like to help him bring the book to life.

“In a perfect world it would be Ryan Gosling as Christian Grey,” Ellis said – whilst the rest of the female population nodded along.

Rumours are also swirling that Angelina Jolie may be set to direct the 50 Shades of Grey film adaptation. Having made her directorial debut in 2011 with the well-reviewed war drama In the Land of Blood and Honey, we can’t think of a better woman for the job – for one thing, she sure knows how to rock the leather and bondage look! Since acquiring the rights last summer, Focus and Universal pictures have said they are wanting a strong female voice to make the novel become a reality, and we think Angelina may well be that woman.

Other casting rumors have been floating around online, with everyone from Amanda Seyfried, Kristen Stewart and Scarlett Johansson to play Christian’s Grey’s lover Anastasia Steele.
