A Weekend Roundup

Goodness wasn’t this weekend eventful?! We had the X Factor final, a marriage and a break up over twitter… read on to find out more…
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden Wed
It’s been on the cards for a while now but these two love birds finally tied the knot on Saturday (11.12.10). But the question on everyone’s lips… What did Nicole wear?
Rumours are that there is a huge bidding war currently taking place for the big day’s photos however we’ve heard rumours of a surprise Elephant making an appearance as a gift from Lionel Richie to the couple… and a rather retro Marchesa wedding dress.
Apparently Nicole was struggling to decide between Chanel and Marchesa for the big day (it’s a tough life), but ended up opting for an 80’s style gown.
“She wore a turtleneck lace dress, 80s style,” a source told the website.
Liz Hurley Split Revealed On Twitter
We didn’t see this one coming… Liz Hurley and Arun Nayar have split and apparently it follows months of being secretly separated.
Now this all follows recent rumours that Liz and Aussie Cricketer, Shane Warne, have been getting awful cosy ever since partying together at Goodwood races earlier this year.
Liz announced the split on Twitter saying: “Not a great day. For the record, my husband Arun & I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this. (sic)”
Arun is said to be pretty embarrassed about the whole affair as this kind of behaviour is severely frowned upon in his native India.
A friend of Arun told The Sun newspaper: “He’s hugely embarrassed and upset. This will be devastating for him. The family had no idea their relationship was over.
“It’s very shameful in India and the family will all be deeply shocked this has come to light. Arun is very upset by the whole thing and feels let down.”
Matt Cardle Wins The X Factor
If you’ve been hiding under a rock over the last two days, you may have missed the X Factor finale. If not, you should be ashamed, it was a televisual spectacular.
One Direction were booted out first, leaving Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle to battle it out. I don’t think anyone could have called it as Dermot left us all in suspense but finally Matt Cardle came out on top.
Although this is not surprise for the organisers of the show as the stats show he came out on top every week bar the opening show on the voters poll!
