In celebration of Team Green Britain Bike Week, celebrities have donated sketches of their dream bicycles to an exclusive exhibition at the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. No better way to get the word out than through celebrities!
Celebrity participants include Giles Deacon, Orla Kiely, Victoria Pendleton, Wayne Hemingway, Dawn Porter, Lord Sugar and Amy Fleuriot of Cyclodelic.
The seven bikes will be auctioned off online to raise money for cycling social enterprises. They are made from a mix of old and new bicycle parts and are inspired by everything from the film Grease, retro fashion and English summertime to clouds, animals and the environment.
Fashion designer Wayne Hemingway based his retro design off his own secondhand bike. “My dream bike is Vintage like my original sit up and beg uni bike, doesn’t have any fancy accessories, it’s uncomplicated, easy to hop on and off, easy to service and less likely to get stolen.”
The Celebrity Dream Bike exhibition, on display from 10-16 June, aims to inspire everyone to join this practical and healthy lifestyle choice.
I’ll be sure to place my bid this week!
