We love to celebrate a funny woman, and I am a big fan of Chelsea Handler, if you’ve never heard of her tune into Chelsea Lately on E! at 10.30pm and I promise you laughter will follow. She is way funnier than the now boring Sarah Silverman. Even celebrities who have found themselves at the butt of her jokes can’t help but love Chelsea Handler. Well known for being very blunt about her feelings towards celebrities and celeb wannabes (hello, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag), Chelsea’s show “Chelsea Lately” is always hilarious. Joined by her circulating  and often misfit “roundtable” panel of comedians and columnists, Chelsea gets the better of everyone with her quick wit, even her very lovable sidekick, Chuy. Her one-on-one interviews with stars do not pander to their egos, quite the opposite. It’s a credit to how clever she delivers her one liners that she manages to attract the likes of Jim Carey, Snoop Dog and Jenny McCarthy  to  appear on the show.

Katie Price was a recent guest and I wanted to hide behind a pillow and cringe at how more stupid than usual Price appeared.

She has also penned two books that have made it onto the New York Times Best Seller List. “My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands,” and “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” promise readers tales about her family life, dating (and “dating”…), and work. She has even featured in this month’s Playboy, but  don’t worry; Chelsea’s too smart to get naked and does keep what she calls her “Pikachu” all covered up. The New Jersey born blonde was raised Jewish by her Jewish father and Mormon mother, a not-so-typical up-bringing that she attributes much of her comedic sense to.

July 2007 saw the first airing of “Chelsea Lately” on E!, and the show has done so well that it is currently signed on to run until 2012. Chelsea is also a correspondent on “The Tonight Show,” has co-hosted and appeared on a number of shows, and has been working with Leah Remini and Jenny McCarthy on the on-line show “In The Motherhood,” which she co-stars and co-writes for. We know we can’t wait to see the unthinkable things Chelsea will say in her third book, “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang,” which will be released on March 9th 2010. If you haven’t already, do yourself a serious favour and be sure to catch the lady behind the highest-rating program on E! Take a look at the clip below…
