Dressed for Attack

The Vending Machine Dress - Step 1

The Vending Machine Dress - Step 1

Japanese fashion designer Aya Tsukioka has taken tackling crime to a whole new level with these attack-deterrent outfits… which coincidently are some of the funniest things I’ve ever seen.

We’ve got a skirt that transforms into a vending machine (and yes before you ask, I am being serious), we’ve got a handbag (the Manhole Bag!?) that miraculously turns into a man-hole cover and what looks like a child’s rucksack that changes into a rubbish bin.

The aim of the game? Well to deter attacks/mugger/general rotters of course! Think about it, you’re walking down the street and some suspicious character starts following you. Should you’re first thought be to run? No, no friends… don’t run, transform!

With a few quick movements you can turn straight into a full scale, non-descript vending machine. Clearly the most sensible thing to do, as it wouldn’t stand out AT ALL on an empty street (which one would assume it would be if you felt threatened enough to turn into a vending machine in the first place).

Also, another quick point. Surely there’d be a better object for a child to turn into than a rubbish bin? You can imagine it now, the poor little critter’s running away from it’s pre-school bullies, turns into a bin and hopes they go away. They don’t go away though do they, they stand and laugh and probably make good use of this human rubbish bin. Poor thing. Bad parents.

However, saying all this, I’d love to see someone crack one of these out as I’d definitely go and see what happened if I tried to get a diet Coke.
