American Elle have pulled out the big guns with their dual January covers, will you opt for Lady Gaga or a bit of Britney? In Gaga’s edition, controversial and out spoken as ever, she opens up about her sexuality and says: “My album covers are not sexual at all, which was an issue at my record label. I fought for months, and I cried at meetings. They didn’t think the photos were commercial enough…The last thing a young woman needs is another picture of a sexy pop star writhing in sand, covered in grease, touching herself.”

For once Gaga actually looks pretty normal with her toned down hair, make-up…a little Madonna-esque we think. For Britney’s spread they shot her with her adorable boys Jayden James and Sean Preston, with a set of rather fashionable domestic shots.
