Fergie and her fiance Josh Duhamel had a joint bachelor/bachelorette party last night (08.01.09).
The pair – who are set to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony in Los Angeles tomorrow (10.01.09) – partied with 75 friends at new Santa Monica club Dakota Lounge. The couple decided to go against tradition and celebrate their upcoming wedding together so their friends could meet each other before the ceremony.
A source said: “They decided to have a joint bachelor and bachelorette party and have their friends mingle and get to know each other before the big day.” Guests cheered and applauded when the 33-year-old singer- dressed in a sequined black mini-dress – and the 36-year-old ‘Transformers’ star arrived at the candlelit party at 9pm. Family and friends – including Fergie’s Black Eyed Peas bandmate will.i.am – drank expensive champagne and ate Kobe beef, tuna tartare and shrimp skewers while they danced to 80′s songs until 1am.
Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway tied for the Best Actress prize at the 14th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards last night (08.01.09). Meryl was honoured for her role as a 1960′s nun in new movie ‘Doubt’, while Anne wowed the 200 American and Canadian movie critics who voted for the awards with her performance in emotional drama ‘Rachel Getting Married’. After receiving her accolade, Anne said: “Meryl is my idol. To win with my idol who I was nominated against is amazing. I’m so thrilled for her and I’m very thrilled for myself, too.”
