Jennifer Aniston

She maybe unlucky in love but at least Jennifer Aniston proved she can laugh about it. The Marley and Me star poked fun at her love life as she accepted an award. The 40-year-old actress – who has had several failed relationships since her divorce from Brad Pitt, most recently with singer John Mayer – mocked her run of bad luck with men when she took to the stage at the Women in Film Awards to accept the Crystal Award for Excellence in Film.

Host Chelsea Handler jokingly told her: “You have increased the visibility of women in film, and we thank you for that. You’ve recently decreased the visibility of John Mayer, so we thank you for that.”

Jennifer laughed hysterically and continued the joke with her speech. She said: “I’m trying to be more careful than I have been in the past about the titles of movies that I choose to be in. It’s funny – I kind of noticed something a couple years ago that I have a strange parallel with movies I was doing and my life off screen. First, it was ‘The Good Girl’…which evolved into ‘Rumor Has It’, followed by ‘Derailed’. “Then there was ‘The Break-up’. Followed by the lighter side, ‘Friends with Money’.” To end her speech, Jennifer jokingly appealed for her ideal movie role in the hope it will boost her chances of finding love. She added: “If anyone has a movie called ‘Everlasting Love With an Adult Stable Man’, that would be great! I’m at table six, and my agents are at table 12.”

Harrison Ford & Calista Flockhart

Harrison Ford & Calista Flockhart

Harrison Ford is Hollywood’s highest paid actor after earning £43.3 million over the last 12 months. Who’d have thought a comeback would have been so successful? The 66-year-old star made the staggering sum after starring in ‘Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull’ – which took £500 million worldwide at the box office.

Ford – who had only appeared in four movies since 2000 before agreeing to reprise the famous role for a fourth time – was paid the figure between June 2008 and June 2009 as part of a deal that saw studio Paramount give the veteran star, director Steven Spielberg and producer George Lucas a percentage of the film’s earnings. Other stars to make the list, compiled by business bible Forbes magazine, include Adam Sandler, who came second after raking in £36.6 million, Will Smith, who finished third with £30 million, and fourth placed Eddie Murphy, who earned £26.6 million. Rounding off the top five was Nicolas Cage, who was paid £26.6 million in the last 12 months. Forbes compiled the list of top earning stars by speaking to agents, managers, producers and lawyers to find out what money stars received upfront for movies in development and earnings from released films.
