Patrick Swayze has died at the age of 57, after losing his two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. The actor passed away last night in LA with his family at his bedside.

Speaking to People, his rep confirmed: ‘Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.

He battled through his illness and continued to work throughout treatment, even during chemotherapy, on American TV drama, The Beast. Many of Hollywood’s famous names and co-stars have been quick to pay tribute, with Whoopi Goldberg, who starred alongside Swayze in Ghost, leading the way. ‘Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much that I can’t ever repay, I believe in Ghost’s message, so he’ll always be near’ the actress described.

Fellow Ghost star Demi Moore added: ‘Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives. I love and will miss you Patrick.’
Jennifer Grey, who famously played Baby to Swayze’s Johnny in Dirty Dancing paid tribute: ‘When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see. Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family.’

Kanye West Storms on Stage at the VMA's

It’s official Kanye West is a ‘jackass,’ well according to American president Barack Obama that is. His comments were made after the singer stormed the stage during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMA’s. President Obama’s damning comment was made off the record but was subsequently tweeted – and then deleted – by ABC News reporter Terry Moran.

Moran’s tweet read: ‘Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.’

Kanye has already appeared on the Jay Leno show, admitting he is ‘ashamed’ after his shock outburst on stage at the VMAs. He said It was very… rude, period. And, you know, I’d like to be able to apologise to her in person,’ confessed West, adding, ‘I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt.’

Shame you didn’t think about that before you stormed on stage Kanye…
