The Pet Shop Boys

The Pet Shop Boys

The Pet Shop Boys are to team up with The Killers at the BRIT Awards. The duo – Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe – are being honoured with an Outstanding Achievement accolade at this year’s ceremony and are planning to invite the ‘Human’ rockers on stage to perform with them as they close the prestigious event. A source said: “The Pet Shop Boys plan to give a memorable show. ”

They collaborated with David Bowie at the BRITs when he won the same award back in 1996 and they’d like to do something similar this year. “It would be great to get friends of the band on stage. The Killers singer Brandon Flowers and Neil have become good friends so anything is possible.” This year’s BRIT Awards will take place at London’s Earls Court on the 20th of February. The ceremony will be presented by ‘Gavin and Stacey’ TV stars James Cordon and Mathew Horne and ’2 Hearts’ singer Kylie Minogue.

Lily van der Woodsen

Do spin off’s ever really work…need we mention Joey? Well that doesn’t stop others from giving it a go. The latest series to hop on the bandwagon is our beloved Gossip Girl. The show’s executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are teaming up to create a new pilot that will focus on Lily van der Woodsen (played by Kelly Rutherford) growing up in Los Angeles in the ’80s. The show will chronicle Lily’s ‘wildchild teenager’ days, according to a release from the TV network. That includes her falling out with her parents, her subsequent move to the Valley to live with her black sheep sister and going to public school. If it comes over here, no doubt we’ll be watching.

Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise

Ok hands up, who thought the whole Jonathan Ross scandal did get slightly blown out of proportion? Well, Tom Cruise for one. The Hollywood A-lister is in the UK to promote his new film Valkyrie,  and has signed up for Ross’s first comeback show on January 23rd. Stephen Fry and funny man Lee Evans complete the line up. It should be an interesting show.
