Madonna with her children

Madonna with her children

Madonna has left a nanny to care for the Malawian child she is attempting to adopt. The 50-year-old singer – who failed in her initial bid to raise four-year-old Mercy James because she hadn’t met the requirements of living in the African country for 18 months – has instructed members of her staff to look after the tot at Kumbali Lodge, where the star stayed during her visit earlier this month. A source said: “During her farewell party at the lodge, Madonna instructed a nurse and a nanny to remain behind and care for Mercy while her lawyers appeal.” Earlier this week, it was revealed Madonna’s adoption appeal date had been set for May 4 and her case will be heard by three judges at Malawi’s Supreme Court of Appeal.

The celebrity baby boom continues as Dave Grohl has become a father again. The Foo Fighters frontman and wife Jordyn welcomed their second daughter into the world on April 17 – and the singer revealed the newborn is already taking after him. He said: “She is 7 lbs 8 oz, 20 inches long and loud as hell!” The baby has been named Harper Willow in honour of the rocker’s great-uncle Harper Bonebrake. The couple – who married in 2003 – already have a three-year-old daughter Violet, congrats you guys.

Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher

Noel Gallagher wants to record a solo album this year. Does this mean Oasis are no more?  The Oasis guitarist is planning to take a break from the group to concentrate on releasing his own material once they finish touring their ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ album. He said: “I’ve got a lot of songs lying around and some of them are really great. But they’re not Oasis songs. They’re going to sit there and do nothing, so hopefully at the end of this tour I’m going to go and do something for myself.” Noel – who has said Oasis won’t make another record for five years because he has grown frustrated with his singer sibling Liam – hopes the rest of the band also decide to pursue solo projects during the hiatus. He added to Q magazine: “It would be really interesting for fans of the band to see how each individual makes up the whole. I don’t think it’ll affect what Oasis do. Liam, on the other hand, will f***ing freak out. The last three albums have been three years in between, but I see it as likely to be longer this time. Even before the end of making each Oasis album, I’ve always started writing the next one, and I haven’t this time. I don’t want to force it.” Oh we’re sure Liam will be fine, he’s got his clothing line after all…hmm on second thoughts maybe you’d better start writing some songs after all Liam.
