With her eye-catching auburn hair, Isla Fisher has stood out on our screens ever since her brilliant performance as the nymphomaniac in “Wedding Crashers”. With this rising star on our radar, we could not be more happy that she’s starring in the upcoming romantic comedy, “Confessions of a Shopaholic“. You know that there’s nothing we like more than good movies and good shopping!

Raised in Western Australia, Fisher got her start on the ’90s Aussie soap opera, “Home and Away.” After a three year stint on the show, she moved to Paris and attended theatre training school. From here, Fisher went on to appear in a number of UK productions including “Pantomime”, “Summer Holiday” and “Cosi”. While she had quite the theatrical success, it was only a matter of time before Fisher left the stage for the big screen and in 2002, she landed the role of Mary Jane in “Scooby Doo.” Soon after, she strut her signature red locks in other supporting roles including Heather in “I Heart Huckabees” (2004), Gloria in “Wedding Crashers” (2005), and April in “Definitley, Maybe” (2008).

Besides making a name for herself in the film world, Fisher has managed to find love with “Borat” and “Ali G” actor, Sacha Baron Cohen. The bicoastal couple (They switch off between London and L.A.) have been engaged since 2004 and welcomed their first child, daughter Olive, in 2007. While a wedding date has not been set, you can be sure that the big day will be full of laughs (Fisher has jokingly said that she’s only marrying him because he’s funny) and A-List celebs, including friends Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

Fisher has landed her first leading role in 2009′s “Confessions of a Shopaholic.” As a published author herself (She wrote the best-sellers Seduced By Fame and Bewitched at age 18), Fisher jumped at the chance to be a part of the Shopaholic project, and watch its transition to the silver screen. The movie, based on Sophie Kinsella’s The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic and Shopaholic Abroad, follows a young and trendy Londoner who’s shopping addiction is out of control. Fisher, playing the title role of Rebecca Bloomwood, takes you along for the ride of highs and lows as she is forced to make some life-altering decisions. If the fabulous designer frocks and must-have accessories aren’t convincing enough, might I add that Fisher’s love interest is played by the always talented (and insanely handsome!) Hugh Dancy.

Out in a few weeks, grab your girlfriends and see the much-hyped film “Confessions of a Shopaholic“…I know we all have a little shopaholic in us!
