She’s been working in the modeling industry since before she was a teenager, so it’s no surprise that Jennifer Connelly has catwalked (and acted, simultaneously) her way to fame as the face of Balenciaga since Spring 2008. After her big breakthrough in the 2000 film Requiem for a Dream, and two other box office disappointments three years later (Hulk and House of Sand and Fog), she appeared in a handful of horror films, one of which was Dark Water (2005).

In 2006, Connelly starred in two films, both of which were nominated multiple times for Academy Awards: Little Children alongside Kate Winslet, and a journalist opposite the hunky Leonardo DiCaprio. After being offered a major role in ‘Once Upon a Time in America’, she quickly dropped modeling to pursue acting.

But this dark-haired beauty isn’t all brawn and no brain. She attended Yale University for just over a year, studying English literature and drama, before moving to Stanford for another year. She never finished her degree, but something tells us she’s more than made up for it with skill in other areas. Connelly keeps landing jobs that seem perfectly tailored for her vibrant personality.

According to Hollywood tabloids, Jennifer and her husband Paul Bettany will star alongside each other in a Charles Darwin thriller, The Creation. Ironically, she and Paul met while Jennifer was on the set of A Beautiful Mind. She’s also been chosen as Revlon’s new spokeswoman starting this summer. (With her locks, who wouldn’t want her?) Finally, word is in that Jennifer will be making an ‘unofficial’ appearance in the PC video game “The Silver Lining”. These major upcoming appearances, combined with balancing life as a mother of two (Stellan and Kai) will undoubtedly keep this tousled model busy until her next film appearance…which can’t be too far in the future. Women with her looks and charisma don’t stay in the background for long.
