Keira Knightley will make her London theatre debut this December as Jennifer in a version of Moliere’s The Misanthrope. As Jennifer, Keira will be playing a lusty American actress with her sights seriously set on Damian Lewis. Though Keira doesn’t star in the play, her star-power will surely draw the crowds to The Comedy Theatre near Leicester Square.

The daughter of playwright Sharman Macdonald and actor Will Knightley, Keira had her sights set on fame from an early age. At the mere age of 3, Keira began constantly asking her parents to find her an agent. After numerous compromises and promises to do well in school, Keira had an agent.

In 2003, Keira gained international fame by co-starring in Bend it Like Beckham as tomboy Juliette Paxton and then as Elizabeth Swann in the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. In 2005, Keira was nominated for a number of awards for her role as Elizabeth Bennet in Joe Wright’s adaption of Pride and Prejudice. For her steamy performance alongside James McAvoy as an English Literature student studying at Cambridge in the film Atonement, Keira was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

The lovely, waif-like Keira doesn’t limit herself to acting, and can also be seen as the current face of Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle perfume. Keira is not new to the Chanel name- previous Chanel adverts she starred in featured her covering up with just a bowler hat. The more recent photos portray a very retro-glam Keira, seen sporting longer wavy brown hair, pale lips, and an enchanting smoky eye.

Keep your eye out for the release of the new film adaption of My Fair Lady, where 24 year-old Keira plays Eliza Doolittle (a part previously played by Audrey Hepburn). Keira is rumoured to have beaten out Scarlett Johansson for the role.
