Known for being the cute, awkward, slightly nerdy guy, 21 year old Michael Cera is certainly making a name for himself in Hollywood.  The adorable Italian/Canadian has won 3 awards including the Breakthrough Artist Award for both Juno and Superbad and has been nominated for 13 others including a BAFTA Award, MTV Movie Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards, quite a feat for such a young star. A middle child, Cera entered the show business world with his first role in the TV series I Was a Sixth Grade Alien at age 11. He had his fair share of voice-overs.

He received his acting break when he was cast as George Michael Bluth in the award winning American sitcom Arrested Development. He also starred as Harold in the award winning short film Darling Darling. Of course, 2007 was Cera’s year as he starred in both Superbad and Juno, both of which won numerous awards and shot Cera into recognizable stardom. The next year, he starred as Nick O’ Leary in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist opposite Kat Dennings. Cera has made a variety of television appearances as himself and is a talk show favorite because of his self-proclaimed awkwardness. He also writes, produces, and stars in a show called Clark and Michael as a fictional version of himself.

Michael is known to currently be dating Carlyne Yi (you know, that pigtail girl in Knocked Up). He has appeared in Entertainment Weekly’s 2008 ‘30 Under 30’ and was also chosen as one of People’s 2007 Sexiest Men Alive. At 5’ 10”, Cera has a certain boyish charm that we can’t help but love. His humbleness is obvious, saying things such as, “I sort of gave up my ambition to be handsome, I was excited about people thinking I was an idiot… I always kind of end up in situations where I don’t know too many people, and I’m not very social, and I feel, you know, extremely uncomfortable. But there’s some secret pleasure I take in things like that, in things going horribly wrong.” His underlying sense of humor seems to capture audiences and produce truly hilarious scenarios. Look for Michael in his upcoming movies Arrested Development, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, and Youth in Revolt, all premiering within the next year. We surely will be!
