Monday night offered celebs the chance to give back during a week focused on the fashion world. The organisation amfAR, one of the world’s leading nonprofits for AIDS research, hosted a star-studded charity dinner. After braving the red carpet with longtime idol Donatella Versace—who designed clothes for the family for Michael Jackson’s funeral—Janet Jackson accompanied her into the event, which Ms. Jackson helped chair. Versace wore pieces from the beautiful s/s 2010 line.

Stylish guests included Dan and Dean Caten of DSquared2, Chanel Iman, and top designers like Angela Missoni. Stars like Rachel Bilson and Kanye West enjoyed a special performance by Dita Von Teese. Don’t worry: Kanye must have fallen asleep in his seat because he managed to stay quiet for the duration.

The elegant evening raised thousands of Euros for the AIDS charity. Italian businessman Renzo Rosso—owner of the denim brand Diesel—dropped 36,000 Euros for a DSquared bag signed by Canadian model Linda Evangelista. This was the first time amfAR has worked in conjunction with Milan Fashion Week.
