Putting his name and status to good use, Simon Cowell has pulled in an all star line up for his charity record. Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Elton John are just a couple of the stars he has approached. Rumour has it that he has also asked Leona Lewis, Susan Boyle, Joe McElderry, Take That, Cheryl Cole, Robbie Williams and Alexandra Burke to sing on the cover of REM’s Everybody Hurts.

Simon Cowell told the Mail: ‘We have a short time to do this and the people in Haiti need as much help as we can give them, as soon as possible.  I’d like to make this record with as many different types of singers as we can and I hope everyone in the industry comes together to get involved.’

All funds raised will be split between charities the Disasters Emergency Committee and Helping Haiti/ Medicins Sans Frontiers.

Hmm let’s hope his dentist is on standby for any other emergencies.
