As if we needed another reason to stay online (hello, social media!), now token comedian and actor Jack Black is releasing ‘Ghost Ghirls’ - a paranormal comedy about a couple of ghost-busting twenty-somethings (a bit of Clueless meets Ghostbusters) created by and starring Amanda Lund and Maria Blasucci.

Says Black, ”These two ladies have a chemistry, a natural humor. It was a no-brainer when I saw this amazing pilot that I wanted to be involved. I could appreciate the talents of two young ladies in a hilarious comedy. There are not a lot of female-driven projects out there, so kudos to you both.”

Jack Black premieres his comedy, Ghost Ghirls, this coming fall.

The web series, executive-produced by Black, is set to premiere this fall on Yahoo, with cameo roles featuring David Grohl, Val Kilmer, Josh Ritter and Black himself.

“Video is critical to Yahoo’s mission,” Erin McPherson, VP and head of Yahoo said. “Video is growing exponentially online…and we’re right there with it.” McPherson noted that there will be about 50 web series on Yahoo this fall producing approximately 400 episodes a month. About one-fifth of those series will be comedies, she said.
