Jack White’s record label is to open a shop in London – for only two days. Third Man Records has announced that it will launch its first-ever British “pop-up store” in east London’s Shoreditch Church this Friday and Saturday.

Third Man has previously created temporary shops in New York and Los Angeles, moving into disused spaces, painting them black, yellow and white. The outlets sell all Third Man releases, memorabilia from White’s bands, and unspecified rare items. We hear he London store promises a “limited run of exclusive merchandise” that could include T-shirts, CDs and limited-edition 7″s.

Pop-up stores have also hosted surprise gigs by Third Man bands. As the Dead Weather are performing in London on 29 and 30 October, there seems a good chance that the group will swing by Shoreditch and preview songs from their forthcoming second album.

Though Third Man Records and Novelties will be open from 11am to 6pm on Friday, and 11am-9pm on Saturday, super-fans may want to make haste. Many White Stripes enthusiasts lined up hours in advance for previous pop-up shops, hoping to snag limited merchandise – or a peek at Jack White’s maniac haircut.
