Whether or not you want to see the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street or not, there is no doubt that the film boasts a talented cast, many of whom are relatively fresh faces. One of these is American actress Katie Cassidy.

If you don’t know Cassidy, you may well know her family. She is, of course, the daughter of the much-loved 1970s singer David Cassidy and the model Sherry Williams. Having grown up in a show biz family, she is pretty multi-talented!

She’s modelled for Abercrombie & Fitch as well as Guess Jeans, she’s recorded music AND she’s an actress! Her father hasn’t supported his daughters work, especially her cover of his hit song “I Think I Love You,” but Cassidy wants to make a name for herself without his help, hence it was a long time before the media discovered she was actually his daughter.

In her relatively short acting career, she has had a few television spots, including one on 7h Heaven. Cassidy has also acted in quite a few horror films, namely Black Christmas, When a Stranger Calls and Taken. These all lead up to her starring role in Nightmare on Elm Street, due out next month. She is no stranger to remakes, as she has a recurring role in the remake of the 1990s show Melrose Place, and she is set to be in a film version of the show Dallas alongside John Travolta.

Cassidy, who was once heavily involved with singer Jesse McCartney, is recently linked to hockey player Jarret Stoll.

Nightmare On Elm Street is out now.
