Kim Cattrall

This spring, Kim Cattrall has been busy acting on stage in the West End, in Noel Coward’s Private Lives.

She made her theatre debut playing a paraplegic in the revival Whose Life is it Anyway, but this time, in Private Lives, she has been starring opposite Matthew Macfadyen, most famous for his role as Mr. Darcy in the 2005 film Pride and Prejudice. They play a divorced couple that reunite five years later while on their honeymoons with their new spouses. The award winning Richard Eyre directs the play.

Cattrall, who was born in Liverpool, says her favourite part about retuning to England is being able to ride public transport. Unlike in New York City, she can ride on the London Underground without worrying about anyone bothering her.

But Kim is to return to the big screen this weekend in Roman Polanski’s The Ghost.  She plays the sexy secretary of Prime Minister Lang, played by Pierce Brosnan which could be based on Tony Blair. She stars alongside Olivia Williams, Ewan McGregor and Tom Wilkinson in this gripping thriller. I really enjoyed this film, which brilliantly tells the story of a potentially career-ruining memoir written by a ghostwriter played by Ewan McGregor.

Cattrall gained international recognition for her role as Samantha Jones in the Sex and the City series and movie. Excitement has ensued because the girls are getting back together for another film to be released in May. The last film ended with everyone’s lives in order, but we all know that can’t last long. Scenes have been released with amazing clothes, a trip to Abu Dhabi, and a cameo from Miley Cyrus. There are even rumours circulating that a third Sex and the City film will begin filming within the year to serve as the official ending for the ensemble.
