Lady Gaga Comes Clean

On the first step of her comeback, we were shocked to see Lady Gaga bare all for the cover of V Magazine shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. And by bare all we don’t just mean naked, we mean goodbye eccentric makeup and distracting outfits and hello a gorgeous Gaga complete with unruly strawberry blonde curls and natural makeup we’d love to get the insider-track on.

Lady Gaga bares all for V Magazine.

Gaga wants her new album, ARTPOP to be perceived in a completely different way than her previous albums. And by the looks of it, her album isn’t the only thing that is being perceived in a completely new light.

She discussed how her absence from her tour (due to a hip injury) allowed her to really “gaze” into her work and spend 6 months fully committed to this new album. She told WWD, “This is one image. This is one moment. This is one statement. When you watch each image and you watch each thing come out, they might not look exactly the same. [I’m not] defined by the same designer or defined by the same haircut or defined by the same icon. The statement is that I’m not one icon. I’m every icon. I’m an icon that is made out of all the colors on the palette at every time. I have no restrictions. No restrictions.”

We applaude her thought provoking statements but we’re left wondering, is this for good?

Lady Gaga’s stylist Brandon Maxwell revealed, “I think that this time it is about letting some of it go and the focus being on the music because now she’s comfortable being naked and being who she is. The world has seen everything.” He also said of her new look, “It’s more toned down and pulled back and chic. It’s also that we’re making suits out of things that they would not normally be made out of, like plastic, but they’re super well-tailored and clean.”

It seems Lady Gaga’s new look has given way from outlandish over-the-top ‘creativity’ and reigned in with classy minimalism. We can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
