In honour of World AIDS Day, (RED) will be turning the world red.  Today, more than 80 iconic landmarks across 13 countries will join (RED) to promote awareness of the ongoing fight against AIDS.

London landmarks going red will be The London Eye, BT Tower, Trafalgar Square Fountains, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Alexandra Palace.

(RED)’s mission is to highlight the attainable goal of ending mother-to-child transmission of HIV by the year 2015, creating the first generation of HIV-free babies in 30 years.  Bono of U2 launched the campaign last night (30.11.10) in Sydney when he lit up the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge and today many other cities will be following suit.

To commemorate the evening I’ll be hanging out at the London Eye trying to spot the rest of our red landmarks!  Watch this space for pictures from tonight and more info on (RED).
