Meet Charlie Siem Part 2

“I’ve always wanted to be a violinist but I never assumed that I would actually get the chance to play in all of these places and to be doing something I love as much as I do,” said Charlie. “It’s just always been in my head, like I’m going to be a violinist but I wasn’t sure how it was going to happen. My career is just now coming together and I’m still at the starting point, but I think I’m heading in the right direction at this moment.”
Last June, Charlie released his first CD – a romantic and enchanting collection of sonatas from composers Edward Elgar and Edvard Grieg. Now, I know you don’t expect me to recommend classical music but like Coco Chanel said, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” You know I’ve got fabulous mastered and Charlie’s elegant music is about as classy as you can get.
Charlie’s success and handsome looks make it easy to think he would have an ego that rivaled
Kanye West’s. But that’s far from true. His undersized ego is replaced with ambition and a captivating compassion for his music and audience.
“I always want my audience to feel moved in some way or form. But when I play something that I know can change
people’s lives and can add something so enormous to them, then I want to convince them that is the case. And that’s what I want to do for the rest of my life,” he said. Music comes first for Charlie. He plays the violin several hours a day.
“My life is so consumed by playing the violin – it’s not the most socially adhesive thing,” said Charlie. “I don’t really go out that much to be honest. I’m content with having my day. I enjoy going to the cinema and I’m quite keen on skiing.”But have no fear Ladies, Charlie says he appreciates fashion and so he will understand (maybe!) why you need extra space in a kitchen cabinet to store your Manolos. On what he looks for in a girlfriend, Charlie says, “Someone supportive is the most important thing. Especially for me because there is a lot of pressure involved.”
And this year that pressure looks to only rise for Charlie. He is in talks to sign a major record deal, tour, and release a new CD in early 2010. So score him while you can ladies because among the rocky gents out there these days, Charlie Siem shines like a gem.
