The Adjustment Bureau

The Adjustment Bureau

Nothing to do this weekend? Well, come tomorrow (4.3.11) there are some great films out that we think are definitely worth the price of a film ticket.

Our first pick is The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt in this adaptation of Philip Dick’s short story.

A romantic sci-fi drama, this cinematic piece spins a tale of a troubled love affair between a successful congressman and beautiful ballerina that has the pair challenging insurmountable odds to be together.

Fighting off shadowy forces working to drive them apart and stick to the predetermined plan. In the worlds of these two people, everyone has a plan but Damon is driven by his ability to choose and refuses to accept fate as an option.

This whirl wind of an adventure begins with a fateful meeting but will it end along the same path?

Next we have, as we’ll never look a travelling alone in the same way again after Taken, Liam Neeson’s new one, Unknown.

Arriving in Berlin with his wife Elizabeth for a conference, scientist Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) realizes only once they’ve gotten to the hotel that he’s left his briefcase– containing his wallet, passport, everything– at the airport. He jumps into a taxi to go back and retrieve it.

A freak accident causes the taxi to crash into a river, landing Martin in a four-day coma at a hospital where they can’t even figure out his name. When he wakes and goes back to his wife (January Jones), she doesn’t just pretend she doesn’t know him, but is accompanied by another man who has all the documentation and even vacation photos to prove that he, in fact, is Martin Harris. This chilling mystery drama, also starring Diane Kruger, is another edge of your seat, can’t get enough action packed film we’ve come to expect from Neeson since ‘Taken’ in 2009.
