Edge of Darkness

Edge of Darkness

Another week, another Ray Winstone film – that’s two in one month – never tire of Mr RW. This week he has teamed up with Mel Gibson in thriller Edge of Darkness, while the award winning Precious also hits the cinema screens.

Set in 1987 it tells the story of  Claireece ‘Precious’ Jones (Gabourey Sidibe), a sixteen-year-old who is pregnant for the second time by her absent father; while she is emotionally and physically abused at home by her mother (Mo’Nique). Things finally look up after Precious enrols in the Each One/Teach One a literacy workshop and gains some freedom. Packs a powerful punch, take tissues click here to have a look at the trailer.

Edge of Darkness
Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is a veteran Boston cop whose activist daughter is killed in front of him while he is standing with her. Investigators assume that he was the target with his daughter tragically caught in the crossfire, but Craven has other ideas and uncovers a trail of corruption with corporate and government cover-ups. Thomas receives some help from a government operative, Jedburgh (Ray Winstone) who has been sent in to clean-up the situation, but the further he delves the more he puts his life in jeopardy. Missed my screening, but you know what I’m gonna say – must be good Ray’s in it!
