Due Date

Due Date

This week’s cinema releases brings us a comedy and a horror flick—and one that could be either, but it’s in 3D.

We loved the hilarious Due Date starring  Robert Downey Jr and The Hangover’s Zach Galifianakis. The comedy is about an uptight father-to-be (Robert Downey Jr) who must make it across the country in time to see the birth of his child.  He’s forced to hitch a ride with Ethan Tremblay (Zach Galifianakis) who is a bit nuts to say the least.  We laughed all the way through this film so if you’re fans of comedies like The Hangover, definitely check this film out on Friday.

If you’d rather fancy a thriller, then watch Let Me In, which will be sure to scare the living daylights out you.  The movie centres on a young boy named Owen (played by Kodi Smit-McPhee) who finds a friend (Chloë Moretz) in his next door neighbour.  Not long after meeting, Owen soon realises she is a vampire and that his life may be in danger. It joins The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo to be another original Swedish flick (it was originalled named Let The Right One In by  John Ajvide Lindqvist) to be adapted to an English script.

Let Me In

Let Me In and Jackass 3D

Finally, the US hit, Jackass 3D, will also be hitting cinemas.  The funny documentary follows pranksters Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Bam Margera and the rest of their Jackass crew.  Be prepared to watch some definite slapstick comedy as well as fights with bulls, snakes, alligators and Bam’s dad.  There’s some moments that will make you cringe, only amplified by the 3D effects—you’ve been warned.
