Emily Blunt in The Young Victoria

Emily Blunt in The Young Victoria

Listen up movie buffs, we have the rundown of the best cinema and DVD releases this week. If you decide to make the trip down to the cinema, there’s only one film worth seeing. The Young Victoria is everything you could want in a film. Packed full of drama, romance and amazing costumes (what an era for fashion) it’s tender, sweet and superb. If a night in curled up on the sofa is more your thing we suggest suspense filled Eagle Eye followed by a healthy dose of comedy from Zack and Miri Make A Porno.

The Young Victoria.
Emily Blunt has proved she is so much more than a bitchy fashion assistant in this beautiful period drama.  Set the year before Queen Victoria (Emily Blunt) was crowned, we follow her as she deals with the pressures of being under the control of her easily led mother and bully Sir John Conroy. Her Cousin Albert (Rupert Friend) arrives and both slowly form a strong friendship which soon turns to love, leading up to Victoria’s coronation. We dare anyone not to be moved and charmed by this touching drama. Click here to veiw some exclusive clips.

Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye

Eagle Eye.
When Shia LaBeouf isn’t off getting arrested for his various after dark antics, he’s away making pretty superb films (need we mention Disturbia?). Eagle Eye is no exception, suspense filled and action packed you’ll be glued to the screen. When Jerry Shaw (LaBeouf) arrives back at his apartment and finds it full of explosives and illegal weapons he knows something is up. A mysterious phone call follows, informing him that he is no longer in control of his life. Caught up in a dangerous game with another woman (Michelle Monaghan) can Jerry regain control of his life before it’s too late? Enter our competition and win your copy on DVD now.

Zack and Miri

Zack and Miri

Zack and Miri Make A Porno
Laugh out loud from start to finish with this hilarious comedy. Lifelong friends Zack (Seth Rogen) and Miri (Elizabeth Banks) find themselves in dire straits.  They are cash strapped and about to be evicted from their apartment, so they do the only thing you can do in times like that – make a porno.  As shooting begins they get it on in more ways than one and end up falling for one another. We think that any film with Rogen in is well worth a watch, Zack and Miri is no exception.
