The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

It was just announced that US President Barack Obama will be making an appearance on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.  The taping for the episode will be 27th October, just three days before Stewart heads to Washington for the “Rally to Restore Sanity.”

This will be the fifth time Obama has appeared on “The Daily Show” but the first since he became President.

Stewart regularly mocks Obama on the show

It was also announced that the President will also be appearing on an 8 December episode of Discovery Channel’s MythBusters.  We like that Obama is using the media to reach out to young voters (besides the Daily Show appearance, he recently held a hour long “youth town hall” meeting on 14 Oct which aired on MTV) but wonder if all these television appearances are the best use of his time.

We also wonder what Stewart will have to say to the President on next week’s episode as his support of Obama has been on the decline.  The host of the faux-news show has mocked Obama on several occasions recently (see the video below too see what we’re talking about).  We can’t wait to see how this episode will turn out; supportive or not, we’re sure Stewart will bring the jokes.
