October Plenty

The October Plenty festival celebrates autumn in London

Celebrate the beginning of autumn in London at a unique harvest celebration, October Plenty

Welcome the autumn harvest in traditional, rural style with the October Plenty festival, celebrating theatre, nature, food and more on the South Bank in October 2010.

The festival includes food, drink, music and drama and provides a chance to enjoy seasonal fun and games in perfect autumn setting.  Activities include dancing and apple tastings, and at the end of the day there’s also the chance to visit and decorate the historic Cross Bones Graveyard in Red Cross Way.

A procession of characters such as the Corn Queen, Hobby Horse and Berry Man will lead people from Shakespeare’s Globe to Borough Market, where there is also a special Apple Day Food Fair. There will also be a performance of a short 16th century play by the theatre group The Lions Part

The processional kicks off at Shakespeare’s Globe at and ends at Borough Market.  The free event will begin at 12pm on Sunday (24.10.10).  More information can be found here
