This year’s shortlist for the BAFTA Orange Rising Star Award has been whittled down after it’s announcement late last year and, despite their being no women in the line-up, we’re excited to see which of these handsome lads will get the prize.
So who are the contenders?
Adam Deacon – a wild card actor that has starred in Kidulthood, Adulthood, Anuvahood and 4321.
Chris Hemsworth – lead actor in Thor, this hottie is set to star in The Avengers, Snow White and the Huntsman and Rush.
Chris O’Dowd – this charming funnyman has been in The IT Crowd TV series, The Boat That Rocked, Gulliver’s Travels and Bridesmaids. He’s also set to star in This Is 40 with Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann next.
Eddie Redmayne – A BATD favourite, Eddie is getting a lot of buzz for his role in My Week With Marylin. He is also set to star in the BBC adaptation of Sebastian Faulks’ novel, Birdsong, and will appear in the film version of Les Misérables.
Tom Hiddleston – this actor not only played the bady in Thor alongside Chris Hemsworth, but he also stars in the highly acclaimed film version of War Horse. Tom has also starred in Midnight in Paris, The Deep Blue Sea and is also set for The Avengers this year.
The Orange Rising Star Award is BAFTAs only award that is voted for by the public and the winner will be announced at the ceremony on 12th February 2012.
