The Inbetweeners Movie

The Inbetweeners Movie

There are two quality films out this week that we love, plus a great DVD release too! We’ve got The Inbetweeners Film which is set to have in fits of laughter and The Guard which is equally funny – just without the filth. For those that like action films, Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal is out this week too so head down to your local shop and buy it for a night in.

The Inbetweeners Film

The four boys we’ve all learnt to love for their horrendous behaviour are back with a film that sees them go on a post-A Level lads holiday in Crete… and it gets messy!

It’s in cinemas now and definitely worth a watch… especially if you’ve just got your exam results yourself.

The Guard

The Guard

The Guard

We absolutely loved this film. It stars Brendan Gleeson as a small-town officer with anger issues, a strange sense of humour, a preference for prostitutes and a dying mother, having to participate in an FBI level drug bust. I didn’t know what to expect when I sat down for this one, but almost instantly knew it would be in my top films of the year. Gleeson is magnificent in it, all types of statues and awards should be thrown at him for this performance.

The operation beings FBI agent Wendell Everett (Don Cheadle) to his door, however despite the fact that Boyle seems more interested in mocking and undermining Everett than in actively working to solve the case, he finds that circumstances keep pulling him back into the thick of it.

The witty plot sees Boyle soon realise that he needs to take matters into his own hands and the only person he can trust is Everett. The relationship between Cheadle and Gleeson is brilliant, it is a Brit style of buddy movie. I totally recommend this one to anyone, it will really make you laugh, thoroughly entertaining!

DVD: Source Code

We loved this film when it came out in the cinemas and think it’ll be the perfect action flick to snuggle up to this weekend…

When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (hotty, Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train.

In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life.
