You might know her as Jonah Hill’s love obsession in Superbad or the good-girl-gone-bad in Easy A, but Emma Stone will soon boost her celebrity status even more as she takes on the main female role in the new Spider-man movie, set to be released on 4th July 2012.

This film, that sees Stone play the role of Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, will no doubt cement the already rising actress’ career, which has thus far also included roles in The House Bunny, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, Zombieland, and the voice of Mazie in Marmaduke.

This year Emma was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her Hester Prynne worthy performance in Easy A as Olive Penderghast. We’re clearly not the only ones that love her either as the review website Rotten Tomatoes commented; “Easy A proves a smart, witty showcase for its irresistibly charming star, Emma Stone.” The Chicago Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert echoed that Easy A is “a funny, engaging comedy that takes the familiar but underrated Emma Stone and makes her, I believe, a star.” The 22-year-old comedian has also proved herself on the sexy stakes by earning rankings on lists such as Maxim’s Hot List in 2009 and 2010.

The American actress was born in 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona, and reportedly fell in love with theater at an early age. She moved to Los Angeles when she was just 15 years old and then to New York two years later, and the rest has unfolded on screen! Interestingly, Emma naturally has blonde hair (which she donned at this year’s Golden Globe awards with her simple peach Calvin Klein dress), which she dyed brown before Superbad producer, Judd Apatow, changed her to a redhead to play Jules in the film.

Although she has become famous for her fire-red hair, her success in Hollywood can only be attributed to her on-screen wit and charm. Not one to take a break, she’s about to star in five major upcoming films which are set to showcase the star’s talent yet again: Crazy, Stupid, Love, also starring Steve Carrell, Julianne Moore and Ryan Gosling, will be released July 29, and The Help, based on the bestselling novel, will be released August 12. Emma will also appear in Friends With Benefits, starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, set to be released July 22. Her latest venture see her play the voice of Eep in The Croods, an animated movie coming to theaters March 30, 2012.

We don’t expect her stardom to fade anytime soon. As Emma adds more roles to her resume, including her part in the highly anticipated Spider-man film, she will no doubt be firmly cemented as one of the hottest faces in Hollywood.

Keep an eye our for her at this Year’s BAFTAS where she’s up for an Orange Rising Star Award…
