Though she made her acting debut at age 12 in Dallas Doll, actress Rose Byrne has only recently made a name for herself as an actress.

Born in a suburb of Sydney, Australia in 1979, Rose began taking acting classes at an early age. She rose to fame in Australia after starring in several television series and films, in particular in the film Two Hands alongside Heath Ledger

Rose made her Hollywood debut in a small role in Star Wars: Episode II-Attack of the Clones as Natalie Portman’s handmaiden. However what really put her on the map was her role as Briseis, the woman who attracts Achillles’ (Brad Pitt) attention in 2004’s Troy. Despite being named the next big thing in the tabloids, Rose remained grounded, stating, “I don’t take it seriously… I mean, I’ve got this tiny part in this big Brad Pitt movie, and everyone here thinks I’m playing Sally to Brad Pitt’s Harry. I’m not, and I’m constantly having to say that.”

Other of her notable films include Wicker Park, Marie Antoinette and 28 Weeks Later. Perhaps her most well-known and award-winning role is in the U.S. television series Damages, in which she plays Ellen Parsons, an attorney working for a new boss (Glenn Close).

Rose is currently starring in Get Him to the Greek, the new comedy featuring Russell Brand and Jonah Hill. She plays Jackie Q, girlfriend of the drug-addict musician, Aldus Snow. This character is more outrageous than the modest roles she’s played before, and it definitely seems to have opened her up as she’s being photographed posing in lingerie for GQAustralia to promote the film!

However it might be that the new Rose may have played a part in her split from boyfriend of six years, Australian writer, director and actor Brendan Cowell, in January. We love what she does though and her English accent in Get Him To The Greek is impeccable (even if some of the scenes are obscene!).
