The build up to an awards show is always the best time to party in Hollywood, the A-list is out in full force and behaving just like us, only in better houses, dresses and jewellery. This weekend saw some serious partying and The New York Post had spies all over those Hills to spill…

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher hit the dance floor with Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez at producer Mike Medavoy‘s party at Ron Burkle‘s estate Thursday. Things also looked romantic with Cameron and A-Rod, who were seen kissing and canoodling.”

Another spy said DiCaprio, there with Bar Refaeli, took charge of the music. The source said: “He wanted some different music, so he got up in the deejay booth.” Afterward, a group including Edward Norton headed back to Demi and Ashton’s house for a card game we’re told lasted until 6 a.m. Despite the late finish, the following day A-Rod, Diaz and DiCaprio, headed to sports bar Goal to watch the Steelers/Ravens game.

On Saturday, stars including Jeff Bridges, Mark Wahlberg, Sacha Baron Cohen and Chace Crawford headed to the Chateau Marmont for the Paramount party. Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen told guests: “I am cancer-free!” He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma in 2009 and underwent chemo. Meanwhile the same night, Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Amy Pascal threw a party at her home to celebrate “The Social Network,” with guests including Aaron Sorkin, Scarlett Johansson, Darren Aronofsky, Melissa Leo and Jeremy Irons.

Now that’s what we call good guest lists!
