Shot in the Dark

You might be surprised to know that other than being the gorgeous leading man in screen roles such as Drive Me Crazy (1999) or in in films such as Celebrity (1998) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006), Adrian Grenier is an accomplished film maker.

His film Shot In The Dark (2002), is a documentary that follows him on his personal quest to find his biological father. “I can’t afford therapy, so I use film to dissect the subconscious mind and figure out how you relate, and how the world affects me.”

The film questions what it means to grow up without a father, if the father-son bond is necessary and what it means exactly. Initially they had plans about how they wanted the documentary to pan-out, but after they began filming it was clear that real life beats any plans they had, and so the film is a true depiction of a son looking for his dad.

Grenier is a creative soul and he expresses himself in ways that are accessible to all of us.

Grenier’s next film, Teenage Paparazzo was shown at Sundance and is said to be released worldwide soon…
